Ambitious? Yes. Necessary? Not at all. I think these scientists want fame more than they want to add to the pool of knowledge. A lot of elephants will most likely die from this experiment, look at the results of the mouse cloning project mentioned. This seems rather inhumane, and for very little gain.

Are they going to also bring back giant 'humans'? There is genuine skeletal evidence of giant human bones, most of which has been pushed under the mainstream - but you CAN see some of the bones in genuine museums. Google them and see for yourself. Yes, giant humans were REAL.
