Of all the games you've played which ones did you think had the best singleplayer campaigns ? Probably not a coincidence that my favourites are all WWII shooters...
Call of duty 1&2
- In my opinion the best shooters I've played so far. Through the game you're fighting alongside the Allies. You'll be switching between playing a Russian soldier in the ruines of Stalingrad, an English soldier in North Africa and an American. Especially the missions as a Sovjet soldier are great The graphics of the game are also pretty amazing considering its release date.
Brothers In Arms series ( Road to Hill 30, Earned in Blood & Hell's Highway )[/u]
- Probably the games that surprised me the most. The gameplay and storyline are quite unique. During the missions you're in command of 1 or 2 firing squads, you can order these to take cover and shoot from behind obstacles. These games require a bit more tactical insight, storming the enemy on your own with your Thompson won't work here, you'll need to give your firing squads the order to shoot at and surpress the enemy so you can flank them. The game has a storyline you're forced to follow since you can't skip most of the video clips in between missions.
Return to castle wolfenstein
- The storyline of the game is pretty basic : you're some type of stereotype macho supersoldier who's infiltrated behind enemy lines and has to stop the nazi's. You're killing tons of nazi soldiers, some generals, some monsters and finally a typical end monster-boss who's a bit harder to kill.
