trillian 5 and avatars

just installed trillian 5 (its pretty nice as it replaces mirc + nnscript quite good and i can use it instead of skype, wlm,icq,... )

however: i dont see the avatars of people from windows live messenger :/

also i cant see anything to start a webcam chat with them :(

No. Irc & messenger & etc work fine though.

hmm does pidgin support cam2cam via pidging2msn ? and does it have skype (without having skype to run in the backround like trllian :S )

Don't know, was just replying to that guy about having IRC/MSN running in the same prog :p Don't really use pidgin much these days.

One of the main reasons I stopped using pidgin was the lack of cam-support, though that was ~3 years ago. They might have fixed it, but then it wasn't possible without pidgin-client at the other end. Also sending files was inredibly slow, they routed everything from pidgin(my)-msn(my)-msn(other), speeds were around 3% of the normal. Hopefully they have fixed it too.

Yeah you can, but some of the programs are pretty crappy.

I like irssi with bitlbee installed, it incorporates everything of the sort into my shell's irssi client which is running constantly.
