few Brink questions

few questions about brink... not that i wanna buy it... but just for a good laugh :D

1) do you need steam for it ?
2) will it really feature DLC in the future that you have to pay for ?

it's more for personal reasons...

no time for a teamgame anymore and no motivation for an fps game tbh...

But i also think Brink will fail just like ET:QW. It's hyped big time by the publisher, so it will prolly have an active scene for a few months, but that's it... seen the same things twice now with ETQW and Wolf... no need for a 3rd time :D
Talked with few ppl who i know from ETQW times, and they basically all say that Brink just feels like ETQW... just with even more lag :D
And if u look at the plain facts, it's just the same, no beta (even worse than etqw and wolf^^), no SDK @ release and so on...

But as i said, those are not the reasons :D ... just getting to old for this Timmy :D

yeah i know, i try to resist brink aswell.

On the other hand, when we played Wolfenstein, it was so fucking nice to play a new and fresh game (eventho it was pretty shit :D )

Was a really nice time with our team :)

I've been playing brink all day and I can honestly tell you that it doesn't lag at all, and comparing it to quakewars would be like compâring ET to CPMA, there are some similarities but it stops there.

Whether or not brink will become competitive, I don't know, but it sure as hell has the potential for it.

I doubt they'll charge for patches. They might release maps to PC users for free, and to console owner's for a fee though.

very much doubt it. dlc's are for the console versions of the game.

and even if bethesda would ever demand that splash released something you need to pay for on the pc. you wouldn't ever need it to play brink competively.

Obviously yes. DLCs are just additional maps and other content such as clothes and tattoos and whatever there is. There's no reason not to release it on PC, and it'll be free.

Think of it as a patch.
