I'm thinking about buying a humble LCD TV. Should be >= 32", around 300 EUR (400 max). I've got a homebuilt NAS (Debian) which stores all of my series & movies.
How can I get to the media which is stored on my NAS and play it on my TV?
Should I install XMBC or smth like that on my linux machine or just run another ethernet-cable to the TV or what?
Are there any technologies, features the LCD TV should definately support, like DLNA?

- A HDMI-cable is not an option since the TV & NAS will be placed in different rooms.
- WiFi reception is pretty shitty, so that's probably out of the question.
