Requiem for a Dream

I guess a lot of you heard about the song named Requiem for a Dream (also used in fragmovies such as Duality), anyway I watched the movie the music was used as background music in, and well it was a really special movie I have to say. Quite shocking, and even more shocking if you would realise there was a period in time were these kind of things actually happened. Anyway the movie quite shocked me, and I guess we should all be happy not to be in the position of the persons starring in this movie ..

For those who haven't seen the movie, it is a drama movie about different kinds of addictions and it doesn't have a 'happy end'.

You are right ,its a good movie imo. I saw it some weeks ago ( a guy recommended the film to me ) and i didnt hear anyting about that movie bevore.

Nothing special about the movie in my opinion, some scenes tried to be "really artistic", but they failed big time. In fact, the majority of the movie was shot in a painfully prententious manner, which slowly started to annoy me. Not a bad picture, but not impressive either.
I recommend Aronofsky's previous film, Pi ( http://imdb.com/title/tt0138704/ ), which I found much better and more enjoyable overall.

The name of the song is "Summer overture" or "Hope overture" btw. There's 2 versions of it

Only movie Ive seen that deserves an IMDB-10 together with Citizen X, Clockwork Orange and Schindler's List.

The music itself is enough to give this movie an 8.
