In my opinion, the two games share as much as ET and CS do.

How is it not comparable? Class orientated team based gameplay.

Wasn't ET conceived by people who played Team Fortress Classic?

That's the only thing the two games have in common (class orientated team game) and some people keep comparing like Brink is almost the same as TF2; when they are two completely different games.
