Long time since I have played it, I decided toplay FM again. I started a save with Liverpool but I'm struggling, anyone have any idea for a tactic?

Few notes: I'm aiming for a better LB, possibly Coentrao (trying to be as close as possible to real life liverpool rumors and transfers)

I also have Alex Chamberlain coming in July. None the less I think I have a decent squad that can provide results but all the players struggles to perform except for maybe Gerrard...Any tips?

Too offensive tactic I think.
I used to follow the same tactic but changed it to something more defensive (playing with arsenal)
Ps: Buy Eden Hazard or Paulo Henrique ;)

p.s i don't need henrique, i have suso and shelvey

i doubt i need players, it's just merely tactics wise as hazard and suarez in either flank with carrol and gerrard in the field should rip every defense out

i'm still in doubt over him, obviously he is a good player and liverpool were linked with him a lot, but he is a starter player and i'm mostly looking for a backup for lucas

i'm not really looking for the best possible players every, that's one of the small challenges that i'm giving myself as i'm playing a top team
i'm buying players who are linked heavily with liverpool and which i like / attract my eyes ( can't fully explain it)
that's why i'm not going for example to buy pastore next to carrol or otamendi for defense...i rather shelvey and gary cahil for example

i hope liverpool buys him next season though ;o

David Alaba has been quite decent for my Bayern squad in FM2010 until I sold him to Bolton.

Not quite sure if he's DMC or MC mainly right now, though.

Actually the way they set players up to get better, he has a better potentail then both of them. My friend told me (after he looked at the codes or something about the game)

Iker Muniain - ST - Spanish team I think

I pretty much have tried all of these players over 2/3 teams and they have so much potentail! Give them a try and let me know if they work out for you as well! :>

Ramsey has never failed me. Becomes the most prestigous player in the game after a few seasons. idk why you cannot get him to that level unless your playing an outdated patch?

Re-train as Central attacking mid. He has pace and an awesome shot on him! Defence is the bit that lets him down.

I had the same untill I pretty much bought their best players on one of my games. They failed to quali for europe and after that they turned into a middle table team :D

they just bought in one transfer window: srna, sahin, yann, elia, coentrao, and farfan.............what a disgusting team really, i had my eyes on coentrao, sahin and yann... i think i'll move on for vertonghen, he can be played in both DM rule which i need a back up / depth, and a CB when needed (though agger + cahil is a massive strong backline)

If your team is letting too many goals in try switching up your passing game and the amount you press forward.

Also

Scout as much as possible because youll find some right gems. Got this guy who is computer generated and he is just the best buy I have ever had!

i hate playing with generated players...i'm spotting some minor players here and there who i can develop (alex chamberlaine seems to be a gem)
other than that i'm developing the youngsters liverpool's youth facility can provide which are not generated (names such as robinson, flanagan, suso, coady, shelvey, ngoo, adrojan etc...once the game becomes too reliable with generated players i stop (should give me at least 6 seasons of fun)

I enjoy playing up to season 10-15. That's over the whole yea though. I just like scouting new talents which I have no idea about and seeing how they play. Think my team aveerage age is probably lower than 23 right now (4th season with fulham) I do have another game with Woking which I am 8 seasons in and climbed up to div 1!

believe me, i have played FM online with Eddo for like 6/7 seasons, gems are NOT fun when Eddo has them... fucking 20 20 20 20 everywhere, thats the reason i hate gems from now on

Unless you turned some option off, that's no regen. Regens have those cartoonish faces.

I get half and half with mine. Don't know what option it is but some players don't have a generated face which is wierd :XC

DMC , Anchor man

Box to box midfielder and ball winning midfielder, quite attacking both

2 inside forwards/wingers, really attacking

lone striker as carroll

the way I played which was awesomeeee until my pc was too bad to run 11 was:

SL-------ST------SR

------CM--CM------
---------VM---------
LB---CD---CD---RB

1 of the flanks to stay at the side mostly, one inside forward and a poacher

attacking CM, ball winning midfielder and anchor man

regular defence I guess

the poacher scored a milion goals like this so guess it worked just fine won about every match with ajax like that

i'm not very good with playing 4-5-1 so i usually play a 4-4-2 with a small diamond (no wingers) or a 4-4-2 with wingers on the AML and AMR. with both formations i can win pretty much everything regularly (besides CL for some reason). ur team looks perfect for the small diamond with hazard at amc as attaking midfielder attack - gerrard as mc deep lying playmaker support. mereiles as a mc box to box midfielder and lucas dmc anchor man or defensive midfielder support.

carrol targer man attack and suarez trequirsta or poacher.

set ur passing to short, zonal marking float crosses and press more @ closing down.

its not a win every game tax, but ive won 5 seasons in a row with it with both chelsea and arsenal.

ohya and reina is together with valdes the only keeper in the game who is as good as a sweeper keeper as a normal keeper so you might give that a try
