MSI Wind U100 halp

Can't find the combo to boot into safe mode, Google returns shit results. Anyone on here got one, or at least know how to boot into safe mode?

User has lost their password so I want to try log in as admin and reset it as a first option *_*

Actually, if you go to msconfig ( click Start, Run, and then type in msconfig and hit Enter) the system configuration utility box comes up.

You should see several tabs across the top. One of them, when selected, has, in the middle of the page, a box you can check that says "Safe Boot". . check that box, and then click Apply and Ok and it will prompt you to restart the computer. .

do this, and then it will boot up in Safe Mode. .

to change it back so that it no longer boots up in Safe Mode (when you have done what you wanted to do in Safe Mode) you have to go back into this same box to uncheck that box or it will continue to boot in Safe Mode.

Hope this helps.

I know how to get into safe mode that way, but if you spent 10 seconds to read the journal then you'd know I'm unable to log in at all, hence looking to get into safe mode from booting up! F8 and a few other combos I know doesn't work so...! :P

ehh...well combo was confusing.why the hell f8 isnt working? damaged? bad connectino ? try using external keyboard? are you pressing the correct button? ( for an example packard bell got f7 as boot button)

Haven't tried using an external keyboard, shouldn't need to (all buttons working and buttons work at boot up as I can go into boot priority and bios) I've tried F7 and F1-3, backspace etc

:(((

afaik in this case u must use xp cd, so when you boot it u can choose to get in on safe mode or repair. Cant remember properly tho

Had the same problem, got it working somehow though. Try an external keyboard as suggested/tapping the f8 key abit/ctrl+f8

Have already tried that before starting journalz :(
Will have to try find some USB tools to recover.

Did try ctrl alt del on login screen to change account to 'Administrator' but only allows you to login via safe mode -,- fucking laptops.
