Its finally here, Team Dignitas has released its new website! That means we have a blog section again and Drago was kind enough to write a blog about Brink as an esports title!
It's simple and perhaps posted a little bit too late (this is our fault) but its still a good read, plus you get to check out the cool new website :)

Edit: if you get a 404 error that means your area DNS server hasnt refreshed yet and you are still seeing the old website (& old links), just try again in a few hours then

Refreshingly simple page. I love it!
- no SDK
- no demo function
- no 1st person view as spectator <-- lol (horrible for streams, which is quite more used nowadays like in SC2 etc... something like ETTV is not needed anymore imo, since streaming has become so easy + good money from commercials... but who wants to watch 3rd person lol)
sounds like a promising esports title ? ... definitly NOT !
On the other hand i gotta say it really looked kinda fun (and good) when watching drago play yesterday... but enjoying the game personally (as a player) is one thing... being esports capable is something different... and at the current state of the game i definitly wouldn't talk about "Brink being suited for esports" sorry...
Demo function is being worked on because atm it has some sort of glitch .
I agree on the spectator thing tho.
I don't care whether it will be the next big esport game, or what not. I probably wont be playing anything competitively ever again :)
my point was just about talking about Brink as an esports title.
The maps are a real let down in terms of how they progress 2-3 single stages with cut scenes where you basically sit on the objective 95% of the time.
This being said, it is fun to play and a good laugh (more so than ET I think, actually forces you to help team mates more in Brink seemingly) but it isnt the fail that was Wolfenstein (anyone that even thinks it is didnt play wolfenstein or hasnt played brink) as the game is quite playable currently but without changes it will fade away.
Streaming btw has become such a huge esports aspect, top SC2 players streaming their games make up to 3000-5000$ per month just from streaming...

Compared to ET , Brink is piss easy !
LOL WHAT??
okok
In my opinion, the movement aspect is the biggest problem. The game feels one dimensional compared to other PC FPS games, and this is what I think deters me the most.
I guess that they still didn't quite have the game ready for release, and didn't dare to delay it a second time. In hopes of proper patches and an SDK so that this diamond could be cut.
I still have my hopes up. ET was an incomplete piece of junk at the time of release, too.
The best and worst part of brink is its flagship SMART movement. at the moment, it just doesnt work... the game feels awkward/choppy.
Now i have to say a fun online fps game for example COD:MW still has absolutely pants movement ability. its terribly bad, but the game makes up for it by having shit movement smooth and very multi-dimensional.
Brink just feels unfinished and needs months more work to convince me otherwise.
I wont play it until it is finished. as i have better things to do than waste my time getting slid into and knocked down by some idiot with a 12 core PC thinking he is the don.
:(
