Gettin a new PC

So my brother wants to buy a new PC.

But he will use it mostly for poker and not gaming so eh doesnt need the most advanced equipment.

So if you could suggest or point out like is is better to buy i3 with 3.0 or some weaker i5 etc and some info about graphics cards would be really helpful

Ps. He needs full software etc, so I wont build it piece buy piece. :(

check scan.co.uk for pre-made custom built pc's in the Today Only section :)

22 or 24 -> personal choice .. less than 5ms refresh rate .. 120hz if you can find a cheap one

what about AMD or intel ?

AMD = cheaper but get a lot more for your money
Intel = quality but obviously more expensive

AMD focus more on the number of cores (I have 6)
Intel focus mainly on the best they can get out of each core (threads per core)

AMD is bang for bucks and is better in the low budget section so you should go for them.

What do you want to do with the monitor? is this for your borther or for you? Because
response time of either 5 or 1 ms doesn't matter for poker :')

the price difference on this 50 W is just to low to not go for a 300 W wich is probaly going to be more effecient and leaves room for upgrades.

if he plays poker isnt it more important to have a screen with the best colors avail for a good price rather than a uberfast screen? I would take this screen, i use it also for gaming and its really good and the colors are so much better than normal TN panels. But prolly out of your budget anyway.

for pc
just get AMD dual/quadcore system since they are really cheap now, and take motherboard that is ready for AM3+ so you can also upgrade in a year to the new AMD processors ''bulldozer''

the dell has some more functions, you can't rotate the LG in any direction and also not in height.

than consider this one, you can rotate it to any direction and up and down and its has IPS screen. So viewing angle colors etc are much better.

There is also 21.5" version
