they did not hack the CIA site, they just ddos'ed it thats it
but for the sony site, most likely yes. not a fortune, but some serious bucks without a doubt

they do not do 'good' things, at least most of what they do isn't good. they already stated more than a few times that they're just having a laugh, thats their motivation.

PS: you can call them via phone and tell them a target you'd like to see hacked/or at least ddos'ed

but they did show how shitty their security was
if some other ppl hacked it they would have run away with millions & millions of dollars

True, lulzsec to provide the lulz and shows how bad security is, but it'll evidently be forgotten after a while, tax payers have to cover up their exposure (through 3rd party security vendors, patching up problems). The thing people don't realise, although lulzsec have only recently hit the mainstream media the last month or so because of their recent attacks, this shit has been going on for what,15+? years. Don't know what's worse, people publicly exposing this shit, humiliating the weakest form of security (humans) or the people who sit on their info/hacks silently, which is the majority here...
