Hull City

Phil Parkinson has just been sacked after an awful start to the new season with management over Hull City.

Hull are currently 23rd in the English Championship and change was inevitable. I went to the game on Saturday vs Southampton, in which we lost 2-4 at home, and the fans were more than frustrated with recent performances and the way the season has gone so far. We have conceeded 9 goals in the last two games - which for any club, is an embarrassment.

Chairman Adam Pearson splashed out £400,000 for Parkinson at the beginning of the season and allocated him £2,000,000 in transfer funding.

Parkinsons reign however, has come to an end, much to the delight of the Hull City fans, and quite possibly players...

It is with regret that on behalf of Hull City I wish to announce the departure of manager Phil Parkinson, a course of action myself and Phil reluctantly confirmed this morning.

The club would like to thank Phil for all of his undoubted hard work and unstinting commitment to the role of manager over the last four months. Unfortunately results have not gone the way either Phil or the club would wish.

On behalf of everyone connected to Hull City I would like to wish Phil all the very best for his future managerial career where he is sure to go on and achieve significant future success in the game.

Hull City will now seek an alternative manager to replace Phil at the earliest possible juncture. In the interim period Phil Brown and Colin Murphy will assume control of first team affairs.

Any specific news update regarding the managerial position will be accurately and promptly released on the clubs official website as soon as it becomes available.

I am hoping that the main two contenders for the job will be ex-Charlton manager, Curbishley, or perhaps ex-Palace manger, Dowie... let me and other Hull City fans wait in anticipation.
