Cubase, Massive for all the sounds. Groove agent one (standard with cubase) for dums, which I then individually compress and alter in sound per channel. I use fabfilter-C for compression.
That's about it. I tell you, Massive is a golden tool. You can create virtually any sound you want with it.
The audio software you use doesn't really matter, you can even use Sony Acid if you prefer, it really doesn't make a difference.

I've been thinking the same with every song I'm making, but if you look at profi DJ's they crowd their song with sounds. I think I still need to find the balance a bit between main tune and supporting sounds.
