This doesn’t come as a total surprise to all of us, it’s been known for a while that Quake Live’s position as a feature IEM title was under consideration for various reasons, although it’s relatively easy to speculate what these may be (stream popularity, player base, growth and more popular competitors). djWHEAT mentioned that Carmac may be considering QL’s position last week during LiveOnThree with popularity being cited as one of the chief concerns.

I don't really know what this is, some kind of multi-game LAN? surely there are many more featured in QuakeLive this couldn't possibly be such a huge hit to the competitive scene.

Just saying QL was doing great, I had no intention of comparing it to the casual dota style game that is LoL.

One of the more skilled and intense games to follow just got removed. Won't be following alot of IEM this year I guess. I usually follow CS/SC2/QL.

Tbh i was surprised aswell it got removed. I enjoyed the QL competition the most on IEM.
Anyway just mentioned that it had the most viewers, no intention of compraing the games

imo IEM should be about the most skillful and competitive games not ones who pay their way in

it should be the creme de la creme of gaming

therefore I would have:
QL
COD4
CS(1.6 or source i dunno but one of them)
SC2

I dont get why Brink wasn't including this year considering its 15k tourney.... oh wait its sh****T
