Netherlands To Germany

Hey people, can anyone help me out with estimates for train costs to get from Schiphol / Amsterdam to western Germany Saarbrucken region? As in on the day - not the random prices you get from all the sites. Layovers & time taken isn't really an issue.

Just seeing if it's cheaper to fly to Amsterdam & go on from there or get the Eurostar across.

Equally have any yermans done Rocco del Schlacko? What's the vibe like? Youtugbe makes it look pretty awesome... Dropkick Murphys :O plus one of my favourite bands Frank Turner and the skanking goodness of NOFX! Then some days wandering Europe (stalking Rhand rly <_< ).

Gunna guess that the train would cost in the region of 35 euros each way. (Going on the fact it is 24 each way to enschede)

So frigging cheap - it pretty much costs me that to get from Sheffield to Leeds :X

Eurostar is like £150 to Paris or you can fly to Schiphol for £70 return.

Isn't it cheaper to fly to Eindhoven? Schiphol is more expensive to fly on usually.

Ah jeez not as cheap as I thought - although I always have the feeling these kinda sites add a premium to the internationals.

Trains, planes or automabiles is the choice. Train is nicer & the holiday starts the second you hop on. Planes is quicker but drops you in the middle of nowhere. Automobiles let you stock up on everything & the freedom to roam but waste days driving! 2 weeks on no budget, with 2 punk festivals from Blackpool to Saarbrucken as the baseline a week apart!

there is a weekend ticket in germany, its like 36€ for 5 persons ;D only slow regio trains, but its really cheap (=7€ p.P.)
finding a few other people to travel with you shouldnt be a problem too... :)

so on which day do u travel??

Hey, trains in Germany are extremely expensive. 2 types available. ICE (high speed more expensive) and the shitty regional trains. Saarbrucken is quite far south actually.... It's no Nord Rhein west falen it's that shithole saarland!

Try bahn.de to work out the train costs from amsterdam.

Where r u originating from? You could always fly to frankfurt hahn or frankfurt and then take the train down. Or from brussel take the ICE through Germany.

More info needed!

Warning: To my knowledge there is no student discount UNLESS you buy one of their discount cards. But like Pumu said there's cool deals available with others.

I live in Cologne, and I use dusseldorf Weeze (ryanair airport to fly from the uk and many other aiports) Gimme more details ;)
