problem with screen

Hey!

I bought a new laptop (17 inch screen) also running on windows 7.
and i have a screen resolution of 1600x900.

when i play with my old config i get black bars at both sides of the screen and

when i try to open my config with:

r_customheight 900
r_customwidth 1600
r_mode -1

i get the OpenGL error... I dont know how to fix this, help plzzz!

edit:

all drivers are updated!
directx is also updated.

Had the same problem sometime ago with the black stripes.
If I remember correctly, I just updated the graphics card and probably the monitor too, that solved the problem I think (correct me if you remember what I did SpainsHEv :P). Are you using nvidia? If so you should go to their site and click your way through to get it updated. I noticed Windows Update doesn't always update things for you :/

i have nvidia graphics card and i also did update it, but it didnt solve it...

if u got black bars on sides its because:

1st: your r_displayrefresh is on 0

2nd: your r_customwidth is lower than 1600
