But why should you remove maps? It's not like people would need any extra pracs to play the same maps they have played for the last six years, so removing goldrush, adlernest or supply (or any other existing map for that matter) to make space for an extra map would be kinda redundant.

Same maps running everytime on public/war/offis and that's because there is not much to choose from. Imo the more maps the better :)

My PC has died and it has the latest versions of the maps on it. Epic timing is epic.

Sadly, none of the maps were competition ready (this is due to teams not showing much of an interest in playing them).

I was a bit more hopeful than I should have been when I originally launched the competition, as I thought people would loved to have seen new maps but it's not been the case.

With that being said, a competition is a competition and the prize must still be won (I'm not going to have mappers put their time into something for nothing).

Afaik you only asked the very best teams? There should be hosted some cup for every1 not only the best teams from et-scene. And you should keep spamming your new maps. It looks already a dead competition without any news, only 1 sticky thread over there which no1 is going to read :/

EDIT: There is not even a proper sign up link? No info about signing up or any cup site like tourney.cc (not the best one but ofc nice page for mix teams to get players to the cup). Secondly, why not hosting it on Sunday? Make an own website for cup and spam the signup link on irc. Lastly, do it when u have time to host a succesful cup!

Personally, I don't have that kind of time. I'm working 40-50 hours a week in my day job and also trying to start my own business which is another 30 hours a week or so. This is why I asked Merlin to take care of the cup side of things.

You don't need a site like tourney.cc to run a tournament ; )

True that but tourney.cc is probably by far the easiest way to host a cup and there will be much mix teams because they already got team/mix there. Without mix teams there won't be more than maximum 6 teams in a cup. It's just a couple of clicks and your team is in a cup. Mix teams are not the best cup testers but when people actually play the maps there might be some interest.

e: Also why not add a price for winner/winners?

Not exactly lots of money, sadly. I'm working to get by, and starting my own business so that I don't have to work FOR somebody anymore!

As for prize, it's easier said than done. And as for mix teams, anybody could have PMed MerlinatoR with a lineup if they wanted to play.
