560GTX not 460GTX

e: omg i got the 560 T_T not 460!

So.. not long after posting that journal about how to successfully install an alternative cooler for your ATI 4870 graphicscard I now recommend you:

Just get

MSI 560GTX FrozR II @880Mhz instead of 820

Starcraft 2 @ Extreme settings -> 115 fps
my 4870 had like 40-50 there..

Price: € 200,-- straight
The ATI 6970 costs nearly double here and it's on the same lvl.
So finally, im back, NVIDIA, it's been a long time since my Mx440!

no problems here aswell but the card is just too old.
imagine, my old mainboard burnt once and still worked properly for almost 6 months.
also my graphicscard, i didnt treat it very well, it's a miracle it became that old!
now it's gonna make somebody else happy :)

already had 333 with the old setup, it's much more cpu reliant tough.
most online servers restrict more than 125 keep that in mind :/

I think you actually mean 6870 and it costs approx ?160e? Atleast I bought mine in march and it was 169e, so it might cost even less by now. And 6870 is still a faster card than gtx 460 (460 overclocks nicely tho). :) And 6970 is by far faster card than 460.

And why would u buy an old gfx for that high price? And if u really wanted nvidia, u should've gone for gtx 560 Ti since it's actually on the same price range as your 460 and is much better.

worked for me aswell but imagine my card became nearly 3 years old!
the computer burnt once, i bent lots of things from my graphicscard and so on :)
besides..max may work for you but not 1920

189€ HD6950 is my choice over this, and no, HD6970 performance exceeds by wide margin the performance of the GTX560. It's still a very good card, sort of pricey though.

560 for 150 avi aswell but who wants that i dont care about the price but doesnt need to be the cheapest. got the best from the productrange of 560s available

Spending an extra 50€ on an useless factory overclock is not my thing and a custom fan is useless too after all. The card will perform just the same and won't die within 4 or 5 years with or without a fancy fan. I bet you will be looking for a re-emplacement in 2 years if not earlier anyway.

doesnt matter i havent had a computer for longer then 1 year max,
this is a new record for me since they always died at some point
due to my heavy abusement and not beeing easy with them.
imo it doesnt matter how much u spend for a computer if i want a new one in
1 year ill go to the shop and buy what i need but for now the 560 is perfect,
it got hdmi, i play only starcraft and that on medium settings with ultra models,
that's it - works smooth as fuck, didnt check fps yet tough :)
