I normally use Firefox... but it crashed quite often with 60+ tabs opened and eats ALOT of memory.
So i tried Opera... but no thanks
Then i tried chrome. It used less RAM than firefox and also never crashed so far (2 windows with 60tabs + 10 tabs).. its interface and settings / addons are nice too. However, after like 60 tabs, when i opened another few tabs fast, the browser freezer for some seconds. And altough the tab is fully loaded , i still dont see any content. just a white tab.. and after a few seconds the content is there.
Now trying: Comodo Dragon Browser. Basically chromanium but it should be more secure.
What browser do you recommend?
Guess i will try chromanium if the comodo browser sucks aswell (altough chrome-chromanium & comodo should be all the same :S ).
thx bb
@edit: 60 tabsb ecause i have all kind of stuff opened / saved for later / checking every now and then / etc
crossfire, facebook, bitfactoy, torreltleech, bitsoup, 3x threads from a car-forum, 4x chrome plugins i want to try out, 3-4 forums where i asked about some stuff (firefox, chrome based questions), some vps-providers to compare their offers (~5-8 tabs) , ~10 tabs for jobs, lifehacker, gizmodo, computerbase, android market,.....
@edit2: and one more annoying thing at all chrome-based browsers: after like 40 tabs, the tab size is so small that u can just see the icon but no text.. in firefox the tab size has a minimum limit and it wont get smaller no matter how many tabs u open :S

Aside from when you have all your porn videos cued up.
HOW ABOUT USING LESS TABS INSTEAD OF SWITCHING BROWSERS LIKE CHELSEA SWITCHES COACHES
when i have around 8 tabs + 1 streaming, my computer crash ;x
q6600+4gb wtflol
i have 18 installed
adblock plus
autopager
open link in ie tab + the button (2 extensions)
facebook sidebar chat reversion
ffixer
flashblock
history site blocker
kb ssl enforcer
kb ssl enforcer button
lastpass
secbrowsing - plugin version checker
sexy undo close tab
skipp redirect
ultimate chrome flag (could remove that)
unfriend finder
verticaltabs
yousabetubefix for chrome
and i know you're saying you need those 60 tabs open but really use a session manager of some type to group up related ones and come back to them later
there's a reason that browsers don't handle that many tabs very well, and it's that they were never intended to
e: unfriend finder :DDDD
adblock
autopager (very handy)
4 userscripts (facebook, youtube)
ssl enforcer (i love than one too)
lastpass (to sync everything with my android)
vertical tabs since the tab size gets ridicilous small afters 30+ tabs
flashblock is nice aswell
history site blocker for the porn !
hmm how exactly would that work ? i can choose which session i want to load when i run the browser? Kinda sucky if i want just 1 tab to be re-stored and have to re-start the whole browser :S
@edit: just found that and it seems nice :)
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bbcnbpafconjjigibnhbfmmgdbbkcjfi?hc=search&hcp=main
adblock plus
notscripts
and speed dial
oh and one script i wrote to get rid of that fucking photo theatre on facebook
new quakeliver ads remover
yousabletubefix (adds alot of nice options to youtube)
facebook side bad revision (get old chatbar back)
skipp redirect
I tried windows xp... after that vista.. and even windows 7 and it keeps lagging or crashing.. I have all programs openened.. for later, maybe i need them in a week or two... such as Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, sony vegas, after effects, firefox, chrome, messenger, skype, mirc, after effects, and 500 others...
what shall i do? buy a 32gb ram pc? :|
anyway, its just all stuff that i need.. besides some of them (as i wrote.. some tabs could get bookmarked). I could also close some tabs and then use some rss-reader.. but that would be 10 tabs for a rss-reader.exe (which i think will use more ressources)
and actually half of the programs you mention are running atm :D
mirc,skype,wlm,browser,mail,torrent,myphone explorer,notepad++
i normally only put stuff into bookmarks which i might need sonehow later or are usefull.. tutorials, download sites, music stuff,... but what i have opened is smth that i use all day :S
Firefox or any other browser eats memory alot, specially if you have some websites with flash content opened.
The solution is pretty simple. Either bookmark them and organize them if needed using the Firefox embedded tool. Or you can sort your daily websites just like i do http://i.imgur.com/NueMq.png . If you press your scroll key "down" if opens all the folder websites. You can also use the Firefox rss thing, no need to have your websites open all the time.
Start sorting your stuff. You are NOT in the android market all the time, while searching for a job, while checking crossfire and facebook at same time, while blablabla.
Plus more plugins = more slow = more memory needed. Get 8gb pc if you really need that, or divide your work using 2 browsers.
for the flash content i use the extension "flash blocker" which blocks all flash-content until i allow it.
android market = 2 tabs.. but ye i could bookmark them
however, the job tabs (~10 tabs) are session based tabs.. if i close them, i cant get back to them anymore (i need to do a lot of questions again to get to an overview of jobs, there i have to search them from a list and open them again). and thats with some other tabs aswell.
but also when working on some coding project or something else i will end up with 40+ tabs which i need all the time to re-read smth, copy & paste something, check for help, etc :S but i will use some session manager for that i think
got 4 gb ram.. firefox mostly only crashes when runnign virtualbox/games/heavy programs.
however, i think for now i will stay with the comodo dragon browser (based on chrome).
And virtual machines eat alot of memory mainly so yeah , pretty normal that it crashs in such moments.
but ye i will just try it out for now and see if the support/update/changes are fine :)
+ i found another extension that helps me to close A LOT of tabs.. page monitor. instead of having the tab opened all the time and refresh it from time to time, i just add it to page monitor and close the tab. as soon as someone reply's to me or any other changes occur, page monitor will notify me :o
sogar jeeeeetztttttt =D soll ich dich mal anstupserln :P
ich komm mit ;D aber heute abend spielen wir mal wieder mein lieber..^.^
weiß noch nicht ob ich heute abend zuhause bin :(
stuff thats interesting and i just leave it open to read afterwards:D-
then you don't need to have engadget/gizmodo/whatever other site you keep a tab open for and can read them all via just 1 tab with the actual content you're looking for very easy to see and immediately in view.
I follow around 50 different sites via RSS and read around 30,000 items (site postings) each month with relative ease.
wouldn't be able to do that by keeping the sites open in tabs and constantly flicking to the tab and refreshing the page :X
RSS was essentially created for exactly what you are doing.
Most forums even have RSS feeds for new threads. Crossfire has RSS feeds for journals/forums/news etc and even PMs
cool guy btw " i need more then 60 tabs" while i only use 2-3 at the same moment =D
then closed them all
