Samsung 2233RZ

i've got it, and it rocks
Looks nice! What GFX card would be best to support this type of monitor?
Parent
depends if you want 3D or not, if u dont care about 3D i guess any card with DVi would go
Parent
Nah I'm not bothered about 3D really :P
Parent
Then its plug and play! :) just dont forget to set ur refresh rate in ET and in gfx panel to 120 hz when u get it
Parent
I will :) but atm I have an nvidea geforce 9600 GT, is that not quite out of date for some of the newer games? :/
Parent
you'll have to ask some one else about GFX cards, i've got a computer who barely handles ET :( :D
Parent
actually it is dual-link dvi.. there is some difference, being that it won't do 120 Hz if u set it up wrong.
Parent
Yeah ofc, but i dont think u need any particular gfx card who supports dual dvi?
Parent
I am not sure but I think you need a dual-dvi capable card to get 120 Hz working.. what I do know for sure is that 8-series geforce and up support the 3D.. :)
Parent
Any card you can find these days will do.
Parent
ye u need that sort of cable, but u get it with screen :P
Parent
SS 2233rz
benQ XL2410T
600EUR for a minotor nah

OR HOW MUCH

ffs it looks cool :(()()(
Parent
not as much ! it's damn well worth it though I might've even bought it even for that amount of money, it's really insane man. huge diff when u come from a 17 or 19" screen though : D
Parent
not rly cause you can make it a 17" and 19" :DDD
Parent
nice but perhaps a bit too expensive
Parent
335 Euros = 294.157477 British pounds

Still quite expensive as I am thinking about getting a new gfx card as well to replace my nVidea GeForce 9600 GT cause it's out of date I guess. :(
Parent
well I can assure you it's worth every pound :) My brother's got it aswell. It's even more insane for some movies ; -)
Parent
Hmm well if it's as good as you say I might just have to save up for it :)
Parent
You should, it's muuuuuuuch better than any of the other ones mentioned in here. Did I mention it's 24" ? : P
Parent
I looked at the specs so I've seen it. I can imagine some of the newer games and some blu-ray movies would look pretty damn awesome on this monitor :D
Parent
Damn straight ;)
Parent
mate, Im still rocking with my nvidia GeForce G210 from the fucking stone-age or smtn :D
Parent
That's still newer than his card.
Parent
what, but i dont even get 125 stable fps on cod4....
Parent
Newer doesn't mean better. The 200 series became after the 9000 series.
Parent
best monitor not the samsung shit!
Parent
What's the difference between 60hz and 120hz? xD
usually 60hz monitors are black painted while 120hz ones are pink/red
Parent
It's like how fast the screen refreshes, so the more times the smoother it is :)
Parent
The monitor's refresh rate is how many times a second the screen redraws itself.

120hz = 2x 60hz(random homo monitor)

oh the smoothness of 120hz, cant even image

tho i dont give a shit
Parent
And you actually see that big a difference or?
Parent
I noticed a big difference going from a 60hz TFT to a 75hz CRT, so i imagine the jump to 120hz will be highly noticeable.
Parent
the biggest question gonna be, if 120 Hz CRT is the same feeling as 120 Hz LCD
Parent
Indeed, but I think overall 120hz on either will be much better.
Parent
Had both, can't really tell the difference (smooth wise), although i preferred the CRT because of colors / view angle.
Parent
A 75HZ CRT? Where did you find that?
Parent
Dad got it for me from some guy who was giving it away.
Parent
i haven't tested anything better than 75hz in my life

so yeah, i dont give a shit

probably its good for your eyes

i remember playing with Netherlands kris in cpma back in 2007, he was playing on a 130(or something higher i dno) CRT monitor, he was saying it's quality is priceless

so yeah
Parent
It surely is a HUGE difference. I used to play with 75hz CRT but the last 1 year I have been playing with 120hz CRT. For now on even 100hz makes eyecancer. I can't even imagine to play again with 75hz.
Parent
The difference is huge. Very very huge.
Parent
60hz is shit 120hz crt feeling or better.
Parent
as said above samsung 2233rz
or
LG W2363d
or
benq xl2410t (expensive)
or
Asus VG236HE
or
LG Flatron D2342P
or
viewsonic VX2268wm
BenQ XL2410T
I heard sQUALL's monitor (can't remember the name) is one of the best gaming monitors on the market.
Viewsonic vx2268wm
Samsung 2233RZ

The first one seems better, about the colors especially. But it is a little bit more expensive (20€)

QuoteThe VX2268wm is faster and produces more accurate colours than Samsung's 2233rz, which, for us, makes it the best 3D screen on the market today. Still, ViewSonic will need to think about lowering its prices as the current differences in quality aren't justified by the much higher price.
Philips 109S ! crt.

wheys a ton but 120hz no problem. should be pretty cheap if you find one nowdays :D
to own more zombies with me and Belgiumxkl?
LG W2363d
lg w2363d
I'm rocking a BenQ XL2410T, with a dead pixel!
Even if I had 5 dead pixels I probably wouldn't use another monitor, for games anyway :P
Nice monitor, quite pricey though.
Mitshibishi Diamond Plus 220
benQ XL2410T
Lg studioworks 773N
iiyama Vision Master Pro 514 :-)

Urtier got me one from ebay.de for 50 euros, it's been great. it's big and heavy but definitely worth it gaming wise. The difference is huge once you get used to it, I had 75hz TFT beforehand.
