Journals
Plenty of columns, journals about it nowadays. A lot of opinions written, here is mine. Since I don't feel like writing an entire column about this, I'll keep my comment short and simple.
Over and out, feel free to discuss
- ET needs online tournaments (possibliy with prizes) so that many teams will compete (not 16 like @ lan...)
- consider a tournament where lower skilled players are able to win smth
- PHX lan failed because of shit timing (too close to last lan event, making lan after/during holidays)
- Merlinator should join Clanbase and host EuroCup as main supervisor (hopefully with prizes? He is able to do it, besides, I think he is able to finish the cup).
- new maps are not really necessary. Ofc, would be good to have 1 new decent map but still it's possible to have a quite good mappool amongst current possibilities
- there is a holiday period, no need to panic (Although I agree it's a good time for discussion)
- community should give a more support for people hosting cups

How?
Then there are kings of the noobs
now you make the diffrence!
(two weeks before start, they deleted mortar in the config, week after that they removed warbell, but that's all irrelevant), you would have gotten nowhere if that shit went trough
i c what you did thur
It "just" needs a proper working ladder/league system linked to the clans and profiles already existing on this page. It also provides best overview of current teams and players, as well as some implementation of SLAC (or?).
Other than that, I kinda agree on most points. A new map would be lovely still and I think the first rounds of one-day cups can be used to check them out. At least that's how it way done several years ago. I remember playing some extremely weird maps in some et-cups :-P
Just let her die a peaceful and painless death.
I THINK NOT!
and
Trust me, I'm a doctor.
unterelite tourneys did it. oh look baggiez, this seems to be on gtv...

cough*
1. host another crossfire chalenge
2. ....
3. profit
I'd be willing to do this if I could gather some capable, intelligent and mature people around me, though I would have no idea where to gather any prizes.
Also : Revive GamesTV by not allowing every single match to be broadcasted, give it the "special" character back.
Said this already ages ago and they decided to make "Top matches" feature instead `-`
For example, you run the program then select competition or public. If they select Competition, then they have options such as;
- Search for "Clan war" (opens irc channel with the browser built into the program)
- Search for Clan (#clanless-et opens same as above)
- Choice of AC (game is executed through program similar to how SLAC/TZAC and Steam work)
...etc
The Public option will open up the server list like other programs do.
Also, with the inbuilt browser the default webpage would be crossfire, and the "adverts" on the program would advertise upcoming cups, leagues etc.
If this is plausable, I think it would make competition a lot more user friendly, and bring a lot of new players to the scene.
QUICK PAINT MOCK UP
irc works just fine to contact people
crossfire works for searching players and talking trash
For someone who has little knowledge of computers, these things can be difficult, you may think that they are easy, but for a newbie, a simple thing like using IRC can be confusing.
Other thing we should do is an competitive only ultimate installer.
You start sponsor/manage us again and arrange over 9000 matches per day
e: sticky pls!
