Das Keyboard

Just ordered image: keyboard
Pretty excited about getting it....
I got it for around €83
I heard it's a very good mechanical keyboard (great for SC2)
and that it's pretty loud, which I like :]

Thoughts?

"mechanical keyboard" what is that supposed to mean?
And why the hell do you like loud keyboards?
A mechanical keyboard has switches beneath the keys that recreate the experience of typing on a typewriter. Although there are different types of switches used in mechanical keyboards, they all have the same result: more accurate typing.
Parent
Didn't understand but okay :P
Parent
Basically is just more accurate :P
Parent
Well how can a keyboard be more accurate? Don't you just have to press on keys? It's not like you're aiming with it or something :P
Parent
wtf are you talking about? just plop your dick on your keyboard and you're ready to shoot
Parent
xD idiot :p

stfu fk face stop filling my inbox
Parent
lol why are you so mad? I'm trying to understand :(
Parent
The nice thing about a mechical keyboard is the 'tactical' feedback it gives. If you do large amout of typing or hardcore gameing those keyboars probably fit you :]
Parent
What's so different about a mechanical one and a "standard" gaming keyboard?
Parent
standard = gum based, slower and..tbh shitty. There's a difference if you really type a lot.
Parent
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDD +1
Parent
mechanical keyboards are nicer to type on but i never see any improvement with accuracy...

speed maybe
Parent
faster, comfier and theyre more durable (spacebar wont break due to excessive jumping in ET :PDPDPDP)
Parent
faster
more comfortable
Parent
massive random pic :D
a mechanical keyboard will in no way improve your performance in starcraft

(the most common keyboard in pro starcraft is a cheap 10$ samsung rubber dome)
It's mixed tbh
Parent
i assume you mean sc2 which is on a much lower level compared to starcraft

(and my statement still stands, performance will not improve)
Parent
I don't expect to improve, I never said that
Parent
QuoteI heard it's a very good mechanical keyboard (great for SC2)

i'm just being pedantic, i know it's a good keyboard but it really changes nothing except your comfort during excessive typing/gaming
Parent
for me, I can press way faster/write faster than on any rubber keyboard I had before (using a filco majestouch 2 with mx brown switches). Needs less pressing force and the pressing way is shorter as well.

I never rly played wc3/sc/sc2 (only on noob lvl :P) but from what I saw at some streams you need to use the keyboard alot (for switching between units, buildings, etc). I think this would be more comfortable but also faster on a mechanical keyboard ?
Parent
you think its better than Razer BlackWidow Ultimate `?
Ehh it's debatable really
Parent
what's confusing?
Parent
why it is debatable ?
Parent
Because some people prefer the BlackWidow over Das Keyboard?
Parent
I got a Steelseries 6Gv2, its not bad
cant see any diffrence with my 30box packard bell?

Parent
You have a point. You use it almost every day, why not have something comfortable?
Parent

i had a DasKeyboard II with Mx blues, then bought a Zowie Celeritas now with MX browns.

Even thou alot of ppl saying they would prefer browns over blues for SC2, i would say that this is not the case.
After using both i have to say that i would recommend blues. Don't get me wrong which, the Zowies is absolutly great, but still... maybe one day i will order a Filco Majestouch with MX blues... fuck the money :D

btw, some older journals from me about mech keyboards:
http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=journal&mode=item&id=122450
http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=journal&mode=item&id=124250
why blue > brown?

browns are lighter to press and got the short pressing way? also the aren't as loud as blues?

I got my Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless MX Brown switches yesterday.. it is fucking awesome !
Its 110€ but totally woth the money. Would never want to write/play on a rubber keyboard :P
