quick question (external hd)

Hey guys i'm going to buy an external hd but actually i don't know anything about it.
You guys got any tips about:
-what's the approximate price i'll have to pay for like 1-1.5 TB
-is usb 3.0 necessary, worth a price difference? my pc doesnt have it yet, but might be useful in the future
-any good brands, online shops, anything

Depends on what you are going to use it for?

I got Apacer from 500GB & Acer from 320GB - both satisfied.

If you want more then I would go for
- Western Digital Elements Desktop
- G-Technology G-Drive 1 TB
Take Western Digital, and go for USB 3.0 if you can, transfers much faster afaik
The comfortable but mostly more expensive method:

or ,because most of the time its cheaper:

Is it actually possible to put an external hdd right in your pc like an internal hdd? Or does that require some pc knowledge?
Why would you want that?

cause atm I've an external just laying on my desk and I never take it too another place so it would be nicer to have it installed in my pc

Just plug it and use it :)

No need to mod it to normal HD, just buy another, they are cheap as soap nowadays.

WD (and if u want it to plug it in like PlayStation check if it works first.)
Just buy a SSD :)
