The mouse - is there really a difference?

Hey guys, I just read a bit through the article over @ esreality about the difference between all the mize out there. Since I am still using the old Microsoft Intellipoint optical I was wondering if you noticed and important difference when switching from one mouse to the other. Does it pay out to change?

thx for sharing your opinion

Someone might need to interview you about this.
Just go for some Microsoft, Logitech, Razer Mouse that suits your hand the most. Rest is not important, atleast I didn't notice any difference by switching DPIs except that I had to lower the sens.
I really tested a lot of mouses and I always ended up using my 5 years old Explorer 3.0 with 400 DPI :-d
I agree. Yes its very important on comfort,The copperhead is very uncomfortable imo compared to mx518, thats why i would never use a razer again, plus i thought the overall build of the razer was alot cheaper with it breaking after only a few months while my 510 which is over 2 years old still works perfecetly.

The Large difference is the quality of the lasers/optical and its tracking and ease to set up. With the copperhead you needed firmware etc which was just a pain not worth messing around with compared to logtiechs plug and play. All factors about skipping and tracking are explained perfectly by sujoy and are definetly worth taking into mind when buying a new mouse.

comfort -> features.

and 400dpi ftw imo :P

well, i find the drivers of the razer mice very useful, besides the fact that they are so little and lie perfectly in your hand.

I think the difference between razer mice and logitech mice is huge.

I dont think that inbetween brand models there is a huge difference, I had the diamondback and then the copperhead and didnt notice a whole lot of change.
I guess you are talking about feelings and not performance, i mean you cant possibly suck with a brand and own with another, except if your hand is really not fitted for your mouse.

edit : oops misread :(
i actually agree with you!

erm if you read the review it answers these questions...
logitech and razer have got some nice mice. I dont know if there's any difference, yet i did feel a difference when i switched from mx510 to mx518. Biggest point imo is, use it on usb @ 500hz or higher and use accelfix. DPI imo doesn't matter, but me myself, I prefer a high dpi (1600 for me).

Oh and dont buy a laser mouse, but optical (laser dont work on all mousepads and are less reliable i read.)
well imo there is some feeling and control differences between mices, but honestly i dont think someone can be a LOT better with a newer mouse. Once you are used to one, i dont think the gap between each mouse is a big deal.
THAT S MARKETING DONT FALL FOR IT!!!

ok i actually bought a g5 10 months ago but my mx 510 's mousefeet were almost gone and i wanted something new.

Anyway who move his mouse so fast that it could lose control?
i switched from a logitech pilot mouse to an MX510 and the difference was huge =)

at first i couldn't do shit with it, mainly because it's a lot bigger..

I think it's the same with everything ,you first have to get used to it before you can play well with it, and i don't think it makes any difference at all what mouse/polling rate etc you use :x
Just like Urtier said, the mouse needs to be comfortable in your hand. That's why I can't play with razer mice since they are too small and don't feel right in my hand.

Just go to a big electronics store where they have the mice out of their boxes so you can just feel them.
take mx5** ..diffrence between mices is huge cause of shape .
