A 2 part documentary about a guy who walked the entire length of the amazon river (7000 km in 2.5 years).
There's no camera crew, just him and some changing chaperonage, he walks the entire 2nd part with just one other guy. On the way he catches flesh eating viruses, has flesh-flies lay their eggs into his skull and their larvae eating their way out, needles full of puss and blood in his elbow and knee joints but just continues on walking.
It's a pretty brutal walk, he encounters drug smugglers, villages hundreds of miles away from anything, some deadly wildlife and has to live off the land for many parts of the walk; pretty amazing to watch even though the entire trip was compressed into 2x 40 minutes.
It aired on channel 5, if you can get your hands on it I recommend you watch it (tvtorrents has it)
