Nominees announced for FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011


Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Xavi were today shortlisted for the 2011 FIFA Ballon d'Or, FIFA and France Football announced.


Guardiola, Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson were shortlisted for the 2011 FIFA Coach of the Year award.


The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Zurich on January 9, 2012.

Look messi playing with Argentina... Honestly, he's not that good.

Messi is nothing without xavi and iniesta. That's why i hope xavi will take it.

Ofcourse you need a great team to shine. Doesn't mean Messi isn't an incredible player... Both Messi and Xavi deserve it.

Guardiola? Not much credit to give him cause when he arrived to Barcelona, Rijkaard had already built a strong team. Plus I doubt there is much of a job to do when you have such players on the pitch. I'd give more credit to Mourinho.

Messi okay, i can deal with that, but imo teams which came far at the CHAMPIONS league, deserve to be voted for the best players. i mean real madrid always fail and they always get voted for the best players. not fair
