ski-region - favs?

hey guys,

i just saw the first snowflakes so i would like to know your favorite ski-region?

i was snowboarding in Switzerland Laax, Austria Zürs/Lech, Italy Livigno, France Avoriaz and some smaller/not so known regions.

what are your favorites for skiing and boarding?
I wanna test something new - so any good/special suggestions for a short winter trip? (for a good destination)

have a nice evening!

sölden, saalbach/hinterglemm
Aspen, Colorado
Going Austria Zell am See/Kaprun this year!!!
France Les Arcs, Val Thorens

but ski touring (Queyras...)> stations
Val thorens, c'est le paradis ! c'est immense. j'y retourne cette année c'est vraiment de la boulette !
Parent
Si tu veux des espaces, fais plutot du ski de rando ou raquettes/snowboard... là c'est vraiment de la boulette :P
Parent
Ischgl, Sölden, Kirchberg, Gerlos, Saalbach Hinterglemm.
Slovakia is the cheapest by far. And having more money to waste and ski/snowboard like anywhere else is better than to pay more money for the same thing in Austria for example.

And it's not shittier than in France or Austria.
I dont wish anything.
Parent
well, the pists are really not bad and stuff, often not so overfilled...

BUT.. I noticed a huge difference when I got injured at snowboarding (was laying on da ground after a fail, WELL VISIBLE! and some stupid skier drove over my arm and I had a huge cut on the arm) it took almost a whole hour till the emergency services arrived, and another 45 mins till the helicopter came, so I almost bleeded to death :/

I once had an accident in austria (kitzbühel, my home) where I managed to completely fuck up a landing after a huge air (broken rips, respiratory failure, etc; at all 3 months of hospital). Took the emergency services about 5 mins to arrive and about 15 mins till the helicopter arrived!
Parent
Moral of the story: don't get injured.
Parent
Yeah idd. Dont get injured. But one bad experience doesnt necessarily show how it all works. Perhaps you were just in a bad place in a bad time, that's all.
Parent
cheapest? :D

Maybe for you it´s, but for us it wasn´t . Why I will spend more moneys to f#cking TMR group (J&T) if I can buy a 1 week ticket to Alps with same price?
Parent
hmm, it's like half the price compared to Austria/Switzerland lol :D
Parent
Snowboarding is my thing YO!
