Every year I watch super bowl and every year I still don't get why is it so popular / interesting to watch. They play for like 15secs and then there's a 5min break.. and that continues throughout the game :l

well the superbowl is...the superbowl. they try to squeeze every moment where there isnt any gameplay to make a commercial break..and yeah thats annoying.

but during the regular season/playoffs there is actually not really too much commercial at all (maybe 2min of commercial then 10minutes of game,then 2min commercial etc)..you will see that the game is actually alot more fluent than you would suppose when you only watched the superbowl because like i said, on superbowl sunday they only show the very essential plays and fill up the rest with commercial.

btw im watching superbowl in german tv with zero commercial like a boss (they bring their own cameras) :D...and really once you watch football without endless commercials you will see the beauty of the game, and you will understand the different tactics and strategies and preparations before every play they make (thats what they cut away to show commercials)

I heard there is an american football version of ET and it goes like this:

everyone plays their normal game until someone gets fragged. then everyone selfkills and build up defense/attack again. when everyone is in position, the game resumes.

SOUNDS EXCITING.

well actually et isnt far from football:
every spawn the allies attack together and the axis defend together. when the attack is over axis selfkill and wait for the next attack...and same goes for allies, nobody attacks alone usually, so every attack a new formation is build

and implying your comment was sarcastic, im pretty sure uve never seen a proper football match yet

I think football is closer to golf than it is to what you describe :P

maybe I have never seen that awesome match cause I don't really follow it. but I started to watch a few games and it bored the shit out of me. in football you have movement 95% of the time. american football is sprint. stop. pass the ball. sprint. stop. just not my cup of tea and I can't see anything thrilling in it.

nobody said you have to like it, but most people say its shit eventhough they've never actually seen a game...and well lets be brutally honest...football is 95% movement yes, but its still also boring as fuck 95% of the time...
