Journals
Thanks to the feedback from my last journal+talking to hukk&simon I have the following parts in my shopping cart:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
-> adding Scythe Mugen 3 Rev.B SCMG-3100
- Motherboard: Asrock P67 PRO3 Mainboard
- PSU: XFX PRO550W Core Edition
- GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6950, 2GB, PCI-e
- RAM: Corsair CL9 1600 8GB, Vengeance Kit LP
- HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB WD5000AAKX; 7200rpm, SATA 6 Gb/s, 16MB Cache
- case: CoolerMaster Elite 430
-> additional: noctua NF-P12 CPU cooler 120 x 120 x 25 mm
- drive: Samsung SH-222AB DVD±RW
Do you trusty crossfire find this good and decently working, or should I rather get 650W? or a different gpu like geforce gtx560 ti 1gb? :S also can you approve that the ram-sticks aren't too big? Thank you very much!

http://www.amazon.de/Gainward-GeForce-Grafikkarte-Speicher-Dual-DVI/dp/B004L2L70A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326123974&sr=8-1 ? looks like one hell of a huge item to me!? But I'd trust it more than amd, too! ;o
that item is overpriced i guess cuz i got my one for 500e one year ago
:p
its around 300 now i guess
But i know you'd be fine with the 5000 series, using 4000 series still myself and getting good FPS on games like MW3 and FEAR 3.
Edit: The cooling on this gainward looks interesting tho, might gather a lot of dust tho. Would still go with the sapphire one.
Works fine for me, stable FPS every where and havent had any trouble playing the newer games! Best bang for the buck i guess!
For openGL games ( everything that is quake based ) nvidia cards are better tho.
Don't know if ram chips are too big. I only use watercooling on desktops here.
will see if I can find smaller ones (1.5v, 1600mhz, anything else of importance?)
e:smaller kingston and corsair all seem to hv 1.65v, gta try the ones above I guess
A 550 watt PSU is _more than enough_ for that setup. Therefore you _do not need 650 watt power supply_. Ever.
so or u pick gtx 560 ti
or u wait for new gfw (i think 2 month to get everywhere)
