New Computer.

Basically I am fed up with the my low fps, fucked up screen and keyboard which is falling to bits.
[Old computer specs]
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
2.54 GHz
512 MB of RAM
Plug and Play Monitor on Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE

[With These specs]
AMD® Sempron 64 processor 3000+ Skt AM2 (If I choose a higher processor will it help by FPS? or just how quickly my computer runs?)
Windows® XP Home Edition
1GB DDR2 RAM
160GB SATA Hard Drive with 8MB Cache
256MB DDR NVIDIA 7900GS PCI-Express Graphics
19" Analogue Widescreen (Black) TFT

I don't run hardly any programs on my computer, I just use MSN, mIRC, Xfire and ET.
So do I really need a better processor? and should I be able to hold 125 FPS with the new specs?

of course u can handle 125 at all maps with the new.
(imo with some extra at the old too )

and yes FPS depends mainly on proccessor.

Cheers Trev, so say if I went for this proccessor AMD® Athlon 64 X2 processor 3800+ Skt AM2 I would get better fps?

yes :) btw Tox has right. with ur old PC and a new video card and maybe some hertz tuning... old good too... depends mainly on ur money :P

tbh, if u were just to change your graphics card you'll have a pretty ok system. and obviously changing your keyboard and monitor if they're fucked up. no need to buy a new pc imo

please, i know people who have much worse systems then that and manage to get 76 fps.

Before buying check for spyware, viruses etc cos u dont want to buy a new pc for nothing

and chaoz, maybe its u who doesnt understand shit cos ask anyone here and im damn sure they'll agree with the advice i gave...
