19" or 21" monitors

looking for a new monitor, 19" or 21"

will use LCD if it has a response time of less than 4ms, but prefer crt that can hit 120hz (min.) at 1024x768

Looking at iiyama visionmasters but not sure yet... budget being a few hundred pounds.

Max Resolution: 1280 x 1024

All good except for that... 1280x1024 sucks because it won't scale down to 1024x768 / 800x600 properly... I don't know who had the bright idea to use 1280x1024 in the first place...

a few hundred = 200~ is not gonna get you a 21", it'll get a semi nice 19" tho, also I just ordered a new tft a couple days ago and there are fuck all CRTs to choose from on the popular UK sites.

Im not sure m8, i bought this one second hand 5 months ago for 60 euro's (LMAO..only 2years old). Dont think they still produce this type. Found this one on Ebay IIYAMA 21" Monitor Vision Master 502 CRT S102GT for 165 euro's (111 quid).
Worth the money imo

I read on a guide for tfts that u can get some free antiaaliasing by playing 1024x768 on a 1280x1024 monitor. I tried it and it just looked blurry :/ , most notable on text.

When buying a TFT check the native resolution as well as the other shit (response time etc etc. there is so much shit on TFT specs :S how are u supposed to know what the fuck u are buying). Make sure your gfx card can handle it and that u want to play games / work on windows at that res.

You can get a nice BenQ 19" monitor for around £150 average. The price jump from 19 --> 21 is rather large though and not really worth it I think.
