Ger: Don't think they played particularly well in the first 2 games. Just good organisation & efficient. You felt they could do much more (attackingly) but never did.

NL: Way too defensive, way too many sidepasses and passes back to keeper/CB, don't deserve to go through. Eventhough they had lot's of chances against DK, I don't think they played well. Missed cohesion and a system. Robben shot a dozen chances 50m over the goal against dk (those were half the chances & none of them were dangerous) plus very egoistic.

DK: Were lucky not to concede against NL and lose or draw the game. Decent organisation but lack the quality. Played their hearts out against por though and was nice to see them come back against them. Kinda deserve it to go through if only because none of them gave them a chance and they did well.

Por: Quite dissappointing. Very defensive against germany for the first 70min. After germany's goal suddenly they attacked and it was a nice 20min but if you want to play for only 20min, no thanks. Against DK they played decent but not that good either. A lot of bad passes & no good combinations you expect from such a good technical team. Ronaldo totally rubbish again like in every tournament.

All in all, ger and dk deserve to go through. Most likely it will be ger & por.

Did you watch the match against DK? Have you seen how many times Robben shot at goal? The worst thing was that there were almost every time better options on his left but he never passed. And when he did pass, he had to shoot. I think in total he shot at least 6-7 times in that match, every one of them at least 10m above the goal. He had a dozen opportunities in a 1vs1 to pass his man but not a single time he got passed him. He was rubbish.

I think an attacker should shoot when he has the chance. Especially when his strengths are 1v1 and shooting.
Ofc when there is a better opportunity, he should pass but 9/10 times a striker doesnt pay attention at a moment he gets to shoot.(unless he plays for barca)

But how many times did you saw Muller or özil shooting at goal? I don't think I've seen Muller shoot once at goal and ozil at most 1 or 2 times (over both games against nl & por). There's way more teamplay in the german team. They choose the right options and make the right decisions, something Robben (there are more) didn't do. I'm not saying NL would have won both games if Robben didn't play so egoistal but it didn't help for sure. I got no problem if he tries his luck from distance but if it doesn't work for like 5 or 6 time you don't have to do it again for the 7th time aswell. You just saw it coming he would shoot again over the bar.

Just to add, I don't think they are big ego's, they just play like that(well, some of them) during this tournament, and a bit during WC 2010 but normally they are both good individually AND as a team.

couldn't agree more. I know that DK isn't near as good as the other teams in the group but we fight as much as we can(and even more). I'm quite disappointed in germany since I was sure that they will be even better than in south africa. But they play kinda boring and a bit too defensive tbh. But they'll probably become better later on since they have a lot of good players and some young talents!

Nah, not luck alone. All teams in this group had a fair chance to place 1st or 2nd. If NL reaches second place in this group it's because they won just enough to become second. The only luck factor is that the other two teams also sucked, and just that little bit harder than NL.

But let's not jump to conclusions just yet. NL first needs to win from Portugal with two goals difference and Denmark must loose from Germany. Netherlands
