PB Ban

How does a PB ban work?
I mean... except for IP and guid... how can one make sure that particular person is banned for good? Because imho, IP and guid are just so easy to change...

Tell me how easy is to change IP ? Unless you have some uber-dynamic-dsl-change-every5minutes ip ?

dynamic, changes every modem restart as in when I close my computer / disconnect my modem in any way i get a new ip. makes downloading form rapdishare a blast.
reconnecting takes about 0,5 sec

most ip's are given over dhcp. for example, on my uni connection i have different ip's for the 2 os's i have.. that's because the os stores the ip, and when connecting to the network askes for the same ip again. if this is the case, it's a matter of changin the stored value, or, simpler, reinstalling the os...
if this doesn't work... well.. other isp?
* back home, i get the same ip even on different computers, and i have no idea how is it bound to the modem... but maybe calling the isp and kindly asking for a new ip ?

I mean WTF? How dare they? Could Id or other respectable companies take a position in this whole cheating thing? I never knew cheating was as easy as that... And people are actually making money (legal money, i think), from that. Could this ever be outlawed?

providing undected cheats?

i dont think they will be undetected for long when everyone starts playing with them

maybe its time to take some action?
like start ur own pb?
make a global banlist? wich bans IP and guids, more waterproof

PB occassionally gives global hardware bans, which take information (ie. serial number) from various components of your computer and bans a computer with those components from playing any PB enabled game. Still, there are ways to get around these, although not quite as easy as changing an IP/guid.

sweet... let's hope the cheaters ran out of money when they bought the cheats so they wont' have the funds for upgrading their blacklisted components :D
