Michael Phelps is now the most decorated Olympic athlete in history.

Michael Phelps has made history again this summer, 4 years after completely dominating Beijing and winning 8 gold medals. He now has 19 medals, which has surpassed the Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina as the most decorated Olympian in history.

I am not sure but afaik there are many starts in one day if you want to win all those or? It is pretty hard when you have already swam many heats in a day.

yep i think so, but there are also some long distances i didnt add

but its not impossible to win atleast 8 gold medals at one olympic event...

I don't know much about swimming but I think it is pretty hard to be good in all those styles since you have to practice them all.

Usain Bolt could get 8 medals if he'd practice other sports, too.
