The ESL is using Aequitas since a few months now.
It's a program, which you have to download and which has to run, when you are playing an ESL Official.
It gives you the possibility to check what is going on at your opponents pc. it's making screenshots which will be uploaded, together with the player cfg. Also it shows you which programs are running in the background, like Netlimiter, Rivatuner or Dynatimer.
So it's a monitoring tool which is supporting all steam based games at the moment.
It helps the ESL to bust cheater. ( Last News: 05.01.07 - 36 user of a private hack, before that they caught 126, also user of some private bots )

But why do cheaters even run that program if they have a bot running? :P

it has been cracked some months ago
as far as i know the only privats wich aeq boosts were made by uall
the only other thing aeq does is busting naps with non aeq proof hacks or forbidden configs not more
oh and theres one major thing the esl has some trusted thingy wich means you send your ID-passport to them and you get trusted³ so if you get busted you never ever come back- oh noes thats not 100% maybe your brother lend you his id or a friend and you can play on.....
and one thing is STEAM games arent FREEWARE wich means if your busted go and buy a new game pay, 5 bucks and send your id to get trusted here you go......
i think thats one reason some cheaters dont come back 1.st trusted³ 5 bucks maybe css 10bucks
oh i forgot you only can play most leagues when youre trusted³
this all togheter made steam based games pretty much more cheaterfree...
and thats the reason i dont understand why you all give a shit about esl maybe with half the power you flamed all cheaters here you could get et the same level at esl as the steam games are now....
not 100percent cheater free but a bit more save and not so many 15year old kiddy just4funcheaters!
i played clanbase for2 years ET and then went to css at esl and i have to say the clanbase community is cooler and more friendly but the esl is much more professinal cause if you flame someone in a war you get PenaltyPoints if you play with wrong settings you get pps if youre unsporty you get pps and if you have 12 pss bye bye for a month or so!

but i have some data on my pc (not binded with et) to hide. why some guys would be able to dig in my pc? also its not only my pc, my parents use it too.
so what then? guys who have those O/Ss, cant play on ESL?
also, it spies your computer? showing whats going on n stuff... where is privacy?
also, saving data, making screenshots, zipping files, if someone has slow pc, it may affect fps ingame...
and #care privacy if you get a bit more save!
but if someone codes something like that 4 et this doesnt mean it has 2 work like that!
but i care about my privacy

I dont think that you can play with Aequitas @ Linux.
And I dont think that you can detected everything under Linux if you aren't playing with teh root account :-)
ET has no future, even before the nC case ...

overall it looks like a good idea but it all depends on how active the updates are i guess. If they are about as active as pb then there's nothing to be gained.
