CF 4.0 is here: what now?

Now that the first wave of whine and complaints has washed over the makers of this site lets try and make some lemonade shall we?
I got used to the new design, cant see any downside to it.
I hear search has been improved which I remember to be the only real technical short comming of old cF.
One has to wonder tho whats wrong with those acchievements in the profiles cause everyone seems to have the same. "creating conent like no other" implies that "no other" (or at least not every single other member of the site) has the same acchievement.However that isnt really all that important.
I do find there is a lack of new functionalities. I would have hoped for things that actually help the ET community out in a way that it helps ET out (e: for heavens sake how long can it take to get the "get ET" section up?).
I was really hoping for an integrated merc/gather system. I dont have an active ET team, not for years now. So it is incredibly hard for me to play a game even tho every now and then I fell like it. (Pansys article actually made me go out and merc 2 very enjoable 3on3s yesterday).
Cant we use this site and a little panel on the side to sign up to play? A little like the ESL system but obviously less complex. Id like to be able to see who wants to play ET while I am browsing thise site and be able to join in.
Do you guys have any (constructive) ideas what the new CF can actually be used for? Give the transition a meaning.

what matter for me is the ideology of the people and that you can t change via the website :)
CF4, why the change apart from Google being able to index CF better now, it was mainly because CF 3.2 basicly nothing could be changed in CF4 however it's possible to add new features. So suggestions like this are great and will surely be looked into, but there are some priorities now.
If you have more feedback/suggestions or even bug reports they are obviously more than welcome.

Ik vind juist dat er totaal niet geheim over wordt gedaan, het wordt niet meteen naar buiten gegooid(wat jij wel wilt?) maar als je er naar vraagt kun je naar mijn mening er een bult inzicht in krijgen.
Maar ja je hebt wel gelijk, als je mensen kent en gaat vragen dan krijg je wel antwoorden die dan eigenlijk niet naar buiten mogen gedaan worden maar wat ik vooral merk is dat veel admins het niet met elkaar eens zijn en niet met elkaar op een "prof." manier met elkaar kunnen praten en niet tegen kritiek kunnen. vind ik toch wel belangrijk als je iets probeert draaiende te houden. En niet alles hoeft gedeeld te worden maar sommige beslissingen die met de community te maken hebben vind ik wel dat er na de community moet geluisterd worden en niet erna pas.
Dont think stubborn people should be in leading positions and a bit more transparency is always nice to have.
Also there should be a newer generation of people leading stuff if the current ones are inactive for whatever reason. Its not the first time krosan dissapears because of personal issues and the way gamesTV is going doesnt really look good either. anal power.

Maybe its my smoked brain, but again it feels like dodging answers and exactly what i was talking about before. And people wonder why i act the way i do here :P
And why are crossfire and gamesTV still separate websites, that would have been nice upgrade^_^
ET gather like style but then on crossfire would also be nice, so does a war finding system.

Pfff. Just play the game, that's it. Cups are going on, though it is nice to see / would be nice to see some high-profile CF-cups too.
Site is nice, but it is just meh, everything new is always whined about and disliked. But meh. Maybe too radical change at once.
First of all, you need to add a box where you can see the last comments on journals,news etc (like the one on gamestv.org)
Secondly, the group creation is fucked up: "This group is currently pending approval. It's hidden and you can not invite any members until it has been approved" - get more admins to do their jobs or remove the need of approval. Maybe the group creation can wait... But news... I needed to wait 3 days for my news article about a map FOR ET to get published, but there are tones of news about CS:GO, LOL or ODC's that get published more quickly.
Also the site is down almost every day. Imo, when you make cf 5(if you ever do) , dont realase it until its REALLY finished
Finally, the biggest problem isnt about the design of this site, its like Thomm said above, the community. Many of them are good only to whine. They don't appreciate nothing, they do nothing but they complain alot.

-this is just bullshit, I check the if there is news to accept serval times a day and I'm not the only one so your 3 days story is quite unrealistic, prehaps 3 hours.
not really quick, but not as long as you make it out to be.
But you should still consider the "group bug" and most important you should lobby for the recent comment to be implemented(It very handy for the recent comments on older journals/news/articles to be seen)
Also, just found out that sometimes when you are looking at your own profile(at least when i look at mine) and you click on the Activity button, nothing happens...
I like the site, i think it can be a little clunky at times but its overall user friendly style i cant help but enjoy.
+id like to say about the small moaning part of the community, they talk about the grand old days like they were there...jesus i was hardly there. Crossfire to me is more than just a site or a layout its the place i loved to come and spend time after playing WAY to much ET. I read the articles inside out and adored the insight i got to it. To sit there and moan about HURR DURR HRUR MA JURNALS UNT DAT GOOT NO MORE XD well fuck me you just aren't really helping are you.
The small few who moan, why don't you try and use the site to its full functions before you sit there and moan about everything you have never done.

I haven't used youtube in over a year now because of this reason it was fine how it was but they ruined it by making everything more complicated and fancy looking.
being conservative for the sake of being ignorant is no option for me.
