Beckham to sign for LA Galaxy

David Beckham will leave Real Madrid and join Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old former England captain will sign a five-year deal.

Beckham told Reuters: "This week Real asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract for a further two seasons.

"After considering several options to stay in Madrid or join other major British and European teams, I have decided to join LA Galaxy."

This has got nothin to do with soccer anymore. I think these guys don't give a shit about soccer, as long as they got enough money. I know it's a matter of 'ask & demand', but if $250 mln is needed to get a player for a simple game like soccer, I think it has gone too far!

he became an icon with football and earned way too much money for someone who just plays football. I don't care about 1 individual beeing so populair cause no one can change that. But the fact someone who just plays football earns 100x as much money as someone who studied years and years to achieve something and who works hard and got a decent job. It's my opinion and you can't really change it. I had some discussions about it with my friends, but they couldn't convince me. so
