Need help et problem

jo guys its me again,
atm im trying a guy (called krayzie)to fix et on his laptop but we cant find a solution, so I/we need ur help.

- Do you have graphic card drivers installed?

- Does your autoexec or whatever config support the desired resolution / hz?

It could be if ingame resolution is bigger then the native resolution. Krayzie68, try lower down the resolution in the config and then try to set it up properly in game.

Ok, Had a chat with him as well. He hasn't even opened ET yet, there's no config, no Profiles folder under ETMAIN.

This should mean, it can't be etconfig/rmode deal.

It's a laptop, if his display or even just GPU doesn't support a 4:3 output this will very much cause the above issue. The Console's clearly failing to set a proper resolution, cycling through r_mode 4 and r_mode 3 and failing to do so every time.

Set it to -1 as well as custom aspect ratio/resolution fitting to his laptop's native resolution and watch the magic happen.

As his laptop got a TFT that will support higher resolutions than 1024x768 (which is the default resolution I think) and thus can interpolate other resolutions than just ones with an aspect ratio of 10:9 or whatever his notebook supports it should not be an issue, but you could be right...

800x600 is the default (r_mode 4)

see:

It kept trying to cycle through all the different r_mode 4's, changing the depth to 32bit, 16bit, etc. before finally giving up on r_mode 3

Sometimes, reading the console.. helps. :)

Didn't read the actual error message. I just read what you wrote and wanted to tell him and you that this might not be the problem. So if that was the case he could try something else without wondering why it does not work. Was no offence towards you or anything

I had that problem too.
The solution is just delete EtPro folder from ET folder, reinstall Etpro file and put the folder again in Et folder, it will work :)
