New Phone

Hi there,

I'm going to buy myself a nice phone since I'm bored of my old Nokia.
Anyone can give me some good advice?

HTC One, Samsung S4, iPhone 5...

Wich one should I take and why? Other suggestions maybe?
Budget: +-600EUR

personal preference.
i prefer android phones over apples.

just pick something you think looks nice, they can run the exact same apps as the other models since it runs on the same OS

yeah those are android. apple, blackberry and nokia run on a different OS
no need to get the newest model unless you're a showoff. they practically do the same with some new silly features i doubt people will regularly use.

I'd say, get a highend phone from last year in stead of this year's.
In general it does what you need just as good as those new ones, un less u want to play the newest best games and all that hardcore crap :p

I have to admit I paid 40 euros last year for one of those Nokia Classic things when my old one died (got SIM-only subscription).

Xioami M2S, Oppo find 5, nexus 4
Best bang for buck phones. Especially the Xioami.
There is no reason to spend 600 if you want highend.

Or you can just spend 150 euro and buy a cheap and fast phone on banggood.com with mediatek mt6589 soc like I did. I have a Cubot gt99 for 120 euro.

Any more quadcore androids for ~150eu you can recommend? Im in asia atm and think ill be able to get quite a few of these chinese brands like huawei oppo or xioami. Atm I have some random vietnamese branded chinese phone which keeps dying on me so pretty much anything will be an upgrade but what im looking for is bangforbuck preferably with a good camera

Other good brands are thl, cubot, newman etc

You can't compare it with a high end popular phone.
In terms of speed, its faster than a galaxy s2 and a little slower than galaxy s3.
But it has a HD screen, camera is comparable to s2. Gaming wise real racing runs really smooth, can watch hd series easily and for general use it just fast. Also most chinese phones are really use to root. Just install driver one click and you are done.

But perhaps biggest feature of all mediatek phones are dual sim. You can use 2 sims at the same time.

Hah I had this exact thing for a new phone 2 months ago. So you can add Xperia Z to that list and that's the comparison I got.

I ended up choosing the HTC One after using iOS for 5+ years. The phone is nice, but lets be honest... iOS is nicer than Android, so you have to choose device or software I guess :D.

I'd recommend the HTC One

I like the HTC one, just don't expect many android upgrades. I would rather pick samsung if you want longer support. Look at the galaxy s2 it came with gb and than ics and now jb, and there is a new jb update coming. HTC would never do that.

Yea you will get android 5.0 first, with HTC you will need to wait at least 3 months.

iOS is bound to few architectures (while android need to address countless HW variations) - thus providing seemingly better performance. Apart from that, it's personal preference. I personally don't see any single reason why I should consider iOS to be better OS than Android, let alone call it superior. In their core, all these mobile OSes offer pretty much the same -> turning point is personal preference. I like my SGS2 with CM10.1 nightlies more than friends iPhone 5 I had chance to "play" around with for a while (I don't even think iOS is nicer, vanilla JB rox :P ). Plus after a bit of experience exchange I seem to have less daily use issues with my old SGS2 than he has with his iPhone 5 (I actually have almost no problem with my phone, it's responsive, smooth and very reliable + if something is not fine I can customize virtually anything).
If one does not need ext. card support and world class (cellphone) camera I would go with Nexus 4, it is one hell of a phone, especially considering its price. And I don't like the most recent trend of making bigger and bigger flag ship models, some of them are almost as big as smaller tablets.

i love my htc one x!

ye android has his bad spots but overall i like it! just dont buy apple!

and ye the one x is an unibody phone, so u cnat change the battery if it breaks, that kinda sucks!

bought mine in january for around 400€, should be cheaper by now!

I d recommend the galaxy s4. Really an awesome phone, in my opinion it s better the apple's phone. Photos and videos quality cannot be compared also

Still using my old Nokia 5800 xpressmusic back from 2007 i think(?). Got fed up of the battery usage even without using any apps.. But from those phones u were thinkin i'd go for samsung S4.

Galaxy S4 < iPhone 5.. simply s4 is newer and beats the iphone 5 in almost any benchmark.. + iphone 5 have so many bugs: Source: i have one..
