Competition is not as harsh as you can see in other games, for example in LoL. Still some transnational comapnies support ET... Like BOSCH, INTEL or Tesco. The next main event is going to be Facebook ET Tournament and another one in December, Bukarest "Fragsteal LAN".
Dignitas, TLR, Anexis and other older names left some time ago, but they got replaced by other teams. In the near future you can expect SK Gaming launching an ET squad, and not sure but some rumours say 4Kings and the Lions are coming aswell...

i dont think it matters much tbh. if you're obvious you're gonna get busted either way and in 6v6 game cheaters never made noticeable difference anyway. just play and not worry about something you can do nothing about :)
