So, signups for EC/OC Fall 2013 will be opening soon...

What should the maplists look like? Here are three possibilities:

Or, what if we had an EC maplist which was the same as the current 6on6 SC maplist, but we only forced the 6 maps in the above EC maplist in the Groupstage? I'd really like to have the same maplists for both 6on6 OC and EC, but I also want to have 8 maps in the 6on6 OC maplist.

See what Oxy said. Every season some admin brings those maps back but noone seriously wants to play them, and their only played when forced. Sure there is couple new comers that play them but the reason is pretty simple, they try to gain edge by playing those versus better opponents, even though it has never really worked.

I thought it was rather obvious enough, from his response, he wants supply, gr, radar, bremen, possibly frost and adler. Everything else just keeps getting added and removed from a cup to cup basis as there's no real demand for any of those maps, no one particularly likes them or.. even bothers to play them unless they're forced.

Too many "random/lotto" maps for elimination if decider is needed. Worse team might try to gain little advantage by aiming for those maps and another team cant do much to it.

If I may advise something - whatever maps you choose, make EC and OC with the same mappool (and even the same maps in matchweeks) - teams will have more options for their praccs and EC's won't be bothered to play maps which ain't @ their mappool :)

EC's arent bothered to play anything except Supply/grush and radar anyway, so lets just keep these 3 maps and add adler for a xmas present.

I don't know, I've always really enjoyed frostbite, sure, it's a lot harder to attack on in certain situations, but missile is... very dull, way to many stages and... way too much running, it's almost as if you were playing ice or village with 5 different docruns in a single map.

Teams would still end up playing those 6 maps with few exceptions. On the other hand 2 extra maps would increase the chance of winning for the underdogs incase of a decider -> more interesting cup.

Polls here on CF don't really work so well for this sort of thing, since we can't tell who voted for which option (among other reasons).

I don't think enough interest has been shown for et_ice as a 6on6 map to make it worthwhile to add it to the 6on6 maplists.

There would be nowhere near as many votes in a poll on CB as there would be in a poll on CF. We also still wouldn't be able to tell who voted for which option.

Polls are rather useless when you can't tell who voted. If we made a poll about the maplist for the upcoming EC, I can pretty much guarantee you that at least 50% (and probably much more) of the votes would be from players who don't even intend to compete in the EC.

There is no work to be done for SC atm, and we've always done things this way... preparing for the next season before the current one ends. It would be illogical to wait until Summer 2013 ended to begin getting ready for Fall 2013.
