Hello!
There's a chance I might move to the Netherlands in the next couple of weeks, because I wouldn't be able to live on my own in Hungary anymore, such a bad place to live.
Anyways, my qualification is related to Logistics, something like "Logistical manager", it's not an university degree. It's OKJ, the "highest" qualification you can get in Hungary after university and college degreee.
I found a manwork coverage company, they are looking for Warehouse staff as wage-workers, which would fit perfectly to me. So I would earn about 3 times more than in Hungary. We had a meeting today and I got some information in hand already.
So my questions are the following:
- How much does the food cost? (I want to cook for myself, no fast food stuff)
- How much does the public transportation cost?
- Would I be able to make myself understood in english in stores and so?
- Have you got any experience as/with wage-worker(s)?
My purpose is gather money for a proper life in the future either in Hungary or even in the Netherlands, so I really don't have high demands.
Thanks in advance!

- How much does the public transportation cost? It's actually quite expensive :P
- Would I be able to make myself understood in english in stores and so? Yes, you will. Like 90% can speak English.
- Have you got any experience as/with wage-worker(s)? No.
he's telling the truth :)
And it is up to you as to how expensive your food is, you can go to the big supermarkets, or to a takeaway restaurant, or just go to a smaller supermarket (LIDL, Aldi) those usually have quite cheap foods for decent quality.
Just take a close look as to what you buy, as sometimes it doesn't hurt to eat the same thing twice in a row or with a day in between, but it can save u some euros :)
Public transport, depending on how far you have to go, can get quite expensive. If you're going to have to travel by it every day, get some sort of discount product from the public transportation company(NS/OV).
You'll make yourself quite understable in English around here, nearly all teenagers up to 50-ers will have no problems with it.
I haven't got any experience with that kind of work but I do know some friends that do, it's really just up to what you want yourself.
3x the wage of hungary, does not mean it is actually paid well. In Holland such work is not seen as a very well paid job, BUT it is a good job to start with after coming here.
Try to catch up on Dutch quick enough though, else Wilders might have some problems with you :3
I'm gonna be living with 4 more guys in a "family-house", so the rent is 72€/week each (they told us about some discont if you are under age of 23). I have to pay the insurance weekly too (18€).
I'm willing to go to work by car most likely, public transportation prices are not much of a matter to me, was jsut curious :)
Kinda basic food is what I want to eat.
Meat / rice / vegetables + some fruit most of the days
Any hint for learning the dutch as fast as possible? :P
Sesamstraat. If it's still running :P
It's a kids program, but it works for learning Dutch I'd say.
Other than that, other kid programs on tv work, easy movies with dutch subtitles, kid books.
No point in starting with university level of Dutch :p
And, go out in to the masses, quickest way of learning dutch :)
350€/week is cheap? I'm not familiar with the renting costs in your country, but for 350€ you can rent a 80 m² apartment on the "rich" side of Budapest for a WHOLE MONTH :D
350 per week aka 1400 per month is pretty expensive, depending on where you are.
I assume Frop read 'each week' in stead of 'week each', but what he say is true though so be on the lookout. Anything suspicious going on and go somewhere else, I'm sure you can rent something decent if you have a normal salary.(Just don't expect it to be in the centre of a huge city)
