Map terminology?

Hey guys!

As it's been about 7 years since I last played any ET matches with voice comm I'm now pretty rusty on map knowledge. Now I know myself around them just fine but I have no idea about common map terminology (i.e. how people call certain parts of the map, that are not obvious like "axis cp")

I'd like to play some pickups now and then but wouldn't want to jump in without such basic knowledge.
Can anyone point me to a webpage or tutorial (I failed to find any articles about this) or just tell me here?

Additionally if it's all neatly gathered I'd gladly make a tutorial of it with screenshots and whatnot

Watching the fireteam players' location may be useful for you cause it indicates a lot of map places, you could use that for instance.

What rashomon said, but it also depends on the team you are playing with. Sometimes there is quite a difference between location names. Just play some wars and you'll get the hang of it again.

i doubt theres some kind of ultimate slang for all the locations and areas, and i belive lots of teams back in the days had unique names. doubt it changed.

There is smtng called "Fireteam" - open one and check the location names of the maps. (not all maps have this, but many)

As a few others have already mentioned, it really depends on who you're playing with. There is no universal list that everyone goes by.

For example, many Americans call the "balcony room" / "gay room" on grush by the name "Canada anim's room". :P

I could make a list for supply and grush at least if you want!

I sometimes call balcony the thing up that goes from CP, never heard anyone ever giving comms about someone being there nor I heard someone calling it some name :(

Most of my friends and I call it the "gay room". To be clear, I'm talking about the room directly to the left as you go up the main stairs outside Axis second spawn.

I meant the up way! from CP you can go like around and then there are stairs down close to the that "old cp" room :D

Yeah, we just call that the "balcony" or "CP balcony", if you mean the ledge around the tower leading from side to the CP room. There is also a balcony in the "gay room", hence the alternative name "balcony room".
