I have few good memories from my gaming years, but Im glad I moved on. I guess it is because I played too much. Everything in moderation is a good rule.

Hey man! I guess it's sort of the same for me. I'm still gaming so "moving on" means basically that I learned how to moderate my gaming time and keep my priorities straight (sort of). I've become a full blown casual, haha. The average older gamer!

I started playing basketball again to quelch my thirst for competition though. It's on a low level, but it's something. Just like I was obsessesed with aim, I'm now obsessesed with improving my 3 point shot. I'll always be drawn to competition I guess.

What a coincidence, I played basketball just yesterday and thought to myself that I should start throwing hooves regularly.

I play if there is a good game on the market, and if I have a friend to play with. At the moment we're playing HAWKEN, free mech-shoter on Steam. I enjoy it so far, but the playerbase is about the size of ET's.

In my opinion people should put their time to something else than excessive gaming. It has no pay-off and you develope no skills with it.

I agree with you to some extent, though I think I've learned a lot from gaming. I learned how to work together with others towards a common goal. I had to learn how to acknowledge my own mistakes instead of blaming others. Also, managing guilds and raids in MMO's has taught me how to manage and bring together a group of people with varies quircks and personalities. You are right though, excessive gaming isn't a great path, eventhough we both strayed upon it for awhile, but I still think I learned a lot from my experiences. Not that I can put this on my CV ofcourse :D
