Is there some sort of rule or restriction regarding downloading TV episodes and films?
I heard somewhere if that you download a film or series episode within 100 days of release, you can't get done for it.
Anyone know if this is true or not?

no FBI agent came knockinig on the my door yet!
I watched them all last nite rofl. It is kinda childish, and the fights are often so stupid. But it is fun to watch.
But I acutally like it because it's different :)

TV series are usually quite expensive to make. Let's take, for example, HBO's Deadwood: a single episode cost around 5 million to make. Costs for a complete season reach pretty significant numbers.
Channels funding expect to make profit from these series. Major part of the income comes from commercials shown during the episodes, which are always cut out from pirated copies.
Many of the channels producing quality shows, like HBO and Showtime, are not free. They lose direct income with every downloaded episode (at least in theory). However, it's not even possible to order these channels everywhere in the world.
Massive downloading of TV shows evident in the internet these days might affect the future prospects of channels producing quality TV shows. At least until someone figures out, that there's a huge demand for quality TV series around the world, and sets up some kind of a cheap on demand -service.
I, at least, would be willing to pay some money to get all the episodes in, for example, 720p HD resolution with some proper encoding... The only difference compared to today's situation would be, that some money would flow back to the companies that make the series.
These Euro theifs can fuck right off though.
