Installed vista on my school computer.
P4 3000MHz
Radeon 7000
512 RAM

Works fine, but memory needs to be more :)

I installed it into old P2 266mhz. Everything exploded and my house burned down. Think the problem might have been basemem.

First get a DX9/10 graphics card, THEN get (preferrably buy) Vista ;) Rather pointless without the eye candy IMO...
