10,000 Users!

Whilst then IP of the 10,000th member matches that of 
mAx, never the less we now have 10,000 members!
Its very nice to see the member counter constantly going up and that pepole are still finding crossfire and wanting to post on it. Its always amazed me that the user count is so low actually, if you consider that maybe more than 50% of the users arent active any more, either from rtcw or just quit visiting the site then you've maybe 5000 active accounts? But on average 10/12 thousand people visit the site every day so who are the mystery group of people that read but never register
If you know one of them I urge you to give them an evil look until they register!
Anyway, its a very nice milestone and I hope it keeps growing as we do more stuff, there are gonna be some more give aways and such starting for users so hopefully they'll be a bit more to do as a user. And yes before FlyingDJ posts, we're still some 2500 short of GTV :P

There's a good reason for that, unlike forcing to register for a download.
Anyway, arni kindly provided a mirror, but you still swap the Primary for Mirror 1 without telling me. Nice one too.

On here you're not unreasonably restricted in doing anything, the only thing a guest can't do is post - which is a restriction that has to be in place or it'd be abused.
What good reason is there to require registration to download a file, beyond you wanking over the new registrations?
