Did you try adding programs and assigning different actions to one of the buttons?
For example, I used to be able to add ET.exe and assign one of the side buttons of the G5 to keystroke K. In all other programs it would still be the Back button.
Now if I try that, it's a K in all programs. :/ The drop down list where you can choose different programs doesn't seem to work properly anymore either.
Well, with G5 drivers, you can independently change the X and Y axis dpi setting, so it would be a shame not to use that... :)
I suggest an Y axis setting of 600dpi for X axis setting of 1000dpi
Ofcourse, that's the same as 1200dpi and 2000dpi, it's up to you how much dpi you want to play at

Those are my settings for my G3 which has the same sensor as the G5.
