If ur using the Office 2003 version, it will be ok. It's IMO the best mail program ever from Microsoft. (Didn't tested Windows Mail on Vista, but some pll say it is better then every program)

However, you don't need to login on a account. Just follow the wizard and follow what microsoft is telling you.

I just use my outlook to check my hotmail account, I used it to learn my exam about outlook couple of years ago and I'm still using it.
